This is the most prestigious textbook of internal medicine ever written since 1927, with more than 400 chapters, it covers in depth and with a direct teaching method every important disease, being specific about what an internist can do and when to refer to a specialist of a different area (e.g ophthalmology, neurology, surgery, etc), even to a subspecialist of internal medicine. The book is organised in 30 sections, ranging from ethics all the way to the classic areas we would expect from internal medicine, with knowledge of other specialties added from the internal medicine approach (e.g otolaryngology, ophthalmology, neurology, dermatology, psychiatry, genetics, immunology, etc).
